To realize dreams and hopes !
Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 in Zundert in the south of the Netherlands. Today, he is one of the most popular painters in the world, but he sold only one painting during his lifetime* and ended his short life at the age of 37.
Van Gogh loved Japan, and his work was influenced by Japanese paintings. Once he said, "I wish I were born as Japanese." Unable to fulfill his dream of traveling to Japan, Van Gogh headed for southern France in search of a land like Japan and he produced many masterpieces there !
"What if Van Gogh had been born in Japan?" “If somebody found his talent in early stage of his life?” Our goal is to create opportunities and experiences for young generation and to realize as many dreams and hopes as possible !
*Of the 2,000 works Van Gogh produced, only “The Red Vineyard" is said to have sold during his lifetime.
The birth of "Find Van Gogh of Future!"
Since the early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to limit or scale down various actions, including our businesses. In particular, many cultural and artistic events where people used to gathering had been canceled, and the young generation forced to spend their precious time as students without new connections and experiences.
Many people say, "Culture and art don’t satisfy our appetite," but since the birth of mankind, art has developed as a unique form of "spiritual expression" that enriches our hearts and lives.
Through this pandemic, we have developed even stronger conviction of these values. It would be great if we could regenerate the connections that have been lost in culture and art in the with-COVID-19 society, and enable more people to feel their own value through cultural and artistic opportunities in post-pandemic.
*The Yellow House is said "Hope & Dream" House for Van Gogh.
